What “Helayo-inspired” means here

This app ports the core ideas behind helayo: a normalized diplomatic layer, recursive token similarity, global alignment with affine gaps, and Center Star behavior. The comparison aligns corresponding lines or numbered units with character-level scoring, then presents the original word groups on each side.

To remain responsive on whole books, the browser first places unique n-gram anchors and applies the affine-gap aligner to the intervals between them. This is a scalable implementation of the same model, not a bundled copy of the Haskell executable.

Remove page furniture, line numbers, tags, and editorial notes while preserving page boundaries.

02Normalize

Lowercase and remove punctuation and symbols for comparison only; the displayed readings keep their original capitalization and symbols.
